Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Consider this: What brought you to this page? You are most likely responding to a series of contacts (either face-to-face or some form of digital outreach) that resonated with you. It is rare that a web page generates interest by itself. A static website is not an effective use of this powerful medium.

The goal is to create an active and dynamic series of opportunities (actions) that involves techniques that drive traffic to your site.  It doesn’t have to be a complicated plan for it to work. Think of it as a “push/pull” sort of thing. The so called “pull” is the website itself. The important consideration is; the web presence must have a compelling gravity to draw viewers there. That gravity is the actual content contained within the site itself. In my profession this is called Inbound Marketing. This is the bedrock of the successful use of your digital assets.

The beautiful thing about the digital world is you can sharply focus on who the appropriate individual or organization is and purposely match them to your objectives. This is where the “push” comes into play. You may have the best ideas, products, services, etc. but they can stall out if the people don’t know your solutions exist. The key to understand why someone would be interested requires you to see through their eyes. The “push” should be an invitation that leads to something of value for the person you are trying to reach.

Nobody wants an unsolicited inquiry unless it provides a solution to a real interest for the reader. By understanding the individual, it is then possible to create an offering of value that will truly resonate. This method is called Outbound Marketing. This could be accomplished by a simple conversation. Digital communication “Outbound” techniques (email, blog, social media, etc) work best if they are crafted to be a simple conversation. That is the power of the digital medium. You can generate significantly more conversations using outbound techniques. These digital methods can be put to work while you continue with face-to-face conversation.
